Ms. Madigan has been designing and teaching courses and workshops in negotiation, mediation and
conflict resolution since the early 1980’s. Her more than 25 years of full-time mediation experience brings a uniquely practical and real world approach to her teaching and professional training activities.
Professional
Training
Denise has been part of the core training faculty at Pepperdine Law School’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution since 1996. Independently, and as part of the Pepperdine faculty, she has trained judges, lawyers, business executives, government officials, and other professionals. These workshops have taken place throughout the United States and in several countries overseas, including Brazil, Switzerland, Uganda, Egypt and Qatar.
In addition to teaching law students as an Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine Law School, Denise has taught 40-hour mediation classes to students at universities in Hong Kong and mainland China.
Denise also is a co-author of one of the first scorable multi-party negotiation simulations used as a teaching tool in universities nationwide. This simulation, Harborco, has been named one of the top two best-selling simulations published by Harvard’s Program on Negotiation every year for over twenty-five years.
